They’re Growing While You’re Grinding: Busy vs. Profitable.

This was the focus of our latest Construction & Home Services Networking, the third event in a 4-part series in collaboration with the City of West Palm Beach.

The room was full of professionals across the construction and home services industries, all looking to better understand the difference between staying busy and building a truly profitable business.

Sandra Hammerstein opened the conversation by sharing valuable insights on certifications, opportunities, and resources available through the City of West Palm Beach to support small business growth.

William Hatcher followed by sharing his journey, building his company alongside his brother, and emphasizing the importance of strong financial foundations, including working with the right CPA and maintaining clear financial visibility.

A key theme quickly emerged: growth is driven by the right relationships.

This led to insights from Richard Zimmerman, who highlighted how bonding plays a critical role in accessing larger opportunities, and what it takes for a business to be truly “bondable.”

Through that same network, Carmen Carbone brought a powerful perspective on leadership, systems, and the internal structure required to scale sustainably.

Beyond the insights, what stood out was the level of connection in the room, engaged conversations, moments of laughter, and a highly productive networking session to close the evening.

At Space Connect, we believe that business growth doesn’t happen in isolation, it happens through access, relationships, and the right conversations.

📅 Our next event in this series is coming up on May 21. Stay tuned.
