Bigger opportunities start with stronger connections

"Building Capacity for Bigger Opportunities" was the theme that brought together contractors, business owners, and professionals from the construction industry and its supporting trades on Thursday, July 30, for another edition of our Construction & Home Services Networking at The Space Connect. The event centered on a simple but powerful idea: sustainable growth begins long before the next project is awarded. Building the right team, strengthening your business, and cultivating meaningful relationships are all essential to preparing for bigger opportunities.

Gustavo Vento, CMO & General Manager and Diana Uva, Human Resources Director at AnngaTop, shared valuable insights on why Human Resources should be viewed as a strategic investment rather than simply an administrative function. They discussed how attracting, retaining, and developing the right talent enables construction companies to build stronger teams, improve productivity, and create the internal capacity needed to support long-term growth.

Richard Zimmerman, Bonding Expert & Trusted Advisor at Seubert & Associates, highlighted how becoming a bondable construction company can help businesses qualify for larger projects, strengthen their credibility, and position themselves for future success. One of the evening's most memorable takeaways was his powerful reminder: "Contacts get contracts" emphasizing that strong relationships are just as important as technical expertise when pursuing new opportunities.

Beyond the educational presentations, the event reinforced the value of bringing together the entire construction ecosystem. While contractors and subcontractors are at the center of the industry, every successful project creates opportunities for a wide range of businesses—including suppliers, financial institutions, insurance professionals, HR specialists, marketing agencies, technology providers, legal services, and many others that support the construction sector. When construction companies win projects, the entire ecosystem moves forward, creating economic opportunities that extend well beyond the job site.

Thank you to AnngaTop and Seubert & Associates for sharing their expertise and supporting this event, and to everyone who joined us for another evening of learning, networking, and collaboration. At The Space Connect, we remain committed to creating opportunities where businesses connect, grow, and strengthen the local ecosystem—because bigger opportunities are built together.

The construction ecosystem doesn’t grow only during networking events—it grows every day through the relationships, conversations, and collaborations happening inside our community.

By becoming part of The Space Connect community, businesses gain more than access to events; they gain a place where connections turn into partnerships, referrals, and opportunities. Together, we can continue strengthening the local business ecosystem, because when local businesses grow, the entire community moves forward.
