On December 8, Space Connect hosted Palm Beach County Commissioner Bobby Powell Jr. (District 7) for an engaging Fireside Chat, moderated by Charisma Adams, CEO of Articulate Consulting. The conversation offered insight into his leadership journey, commitment to public service, and dedication to building strong, connected communities while supporting small businesses.
Commissioner Powell shared stories from his childhood, education, and professional experience as an urban planner, state representative, state senator, and now county commissioner. He reflected on how each stage shaped his leadership style and his commitment to helping others grow and become the best version of themselves.
Throughout the session, Charisma Adams guided thoughtful discussions on civic engagement, community needs, and effective governance. Powell emphasized that success does not belong to one person, one gender, or one race, highlighting collaboration and inclusivity.
Small business owners asked about accessing county projects and resources. Powell and Adams emphasized that certification at the city or county level is the first step to being on the radar for opportunities. Powell also encouraged attendees to connect directly with him or his team, share concerns, and voice their needs to ensure their voices are heard.
A recurring theme of the evening was the importance of showing up, speaking up, and making your voice heard. Commissioner Powell reminded attendees that meaningful change begins when residents actively participate and advocate for their communities.
We are deeply grateful to Commissioner Bobby Powell Jr. for his warmth, approachability, and genuine engagement, and to Charisma Adams for moderating the conversation with clarity and insight. This Fireside Chat was a powerful reminder of Space Connect’s mission: to bring people together, foster opportunity, and create spaces where everyone can grow.
